What’s Hot: Taipei hotel commemorates 20 years

Deemed Taipei’s tallest hotel, Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel recently celebrated its 20th anniversary by completing a NT$1.5 billion (US$50 million) renovation that took 18 months to complete.

In the hotel’s lobby and reception areas, custom artwork created exclusively for the property is displayed and includes “Along the River during the Qing Ming Festival,” depicting the ancient capital of Kaifeng by Taiwanese artist Shen Cheen. It stretches across two silk scrolls and frames the reception area embellished with natural amazonita gemstones.
