Marriott Hamburg sold: Union Investment sold the Marriott Hamburg in Germany for approximately €65 million (US$73 million). UK & European Investments Limited was the buyer.

Wyndham enters Myanmar: Wyndham Hotel Group signed a franchise agreement for the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar. The 260-room hotel is set to open in 2017.

Starwood expands in Eastern Europe: In partnership with Red-Co Ltd, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced Le Méridien’s first location in the Republic of Georgia. Scheduled to open in 2018, the 110-room newly constructed Le Méridien Batumi is part of a mixed-use development that also include a casino and residences.

Tribute to debut in Asia Pacific: Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide signed The Kiroro, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Hokkaido. The Kiroro is part of a dual signing with the Sheraton Hokkaido Kiroro Resort, both of which are scheduled to open in December.

Ascott grows in Asia: The Ascott Limited secured four new contracts to manage Citadines Han River Seoul in South Korea, Citadines Punaka Yogyakarta in Indonesia, Somerset Arcadia Miri in Malaysia, and Citadines Central Binh Duong in Vietnam.

Waikiki Trade Center to be redeveloped: The Waikiki Trade Center in Hawaii will be redeveloped into a 230-room boutique hotel. Coastwood Capital, the center’s owner, and The Chartres Lodging Croup have partners on the renovation, while will also include a swimming pool, entertainment deck and retail spaces.

ANA Crowne Plaza portfolio sold: Savills Hotels has completed the sales of four ANA Crowne Plaza hotels in Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Kanazawa and Toyama in Japan. The portfolio was acquired by Hoshino Resort Co., Ltd., for an undisclosed price and is one of the largest hotel portfolio transactions in Asia in 2015.

 


Fitzwilliam Hotel sold: Graffan No 1 Ltd sold the Fitzwilliam Hotel to Hotel Partners for an undisclosed sum. Hotel Partners had previously run the hotel.

Artmore Hotel acquired: Urbana Varro acquired 100% interest in Atlanta’s Artmore Hotel from Jamestown. Urbana Varro plans to implement on-site art installations, pop-up studios and showcases featuring local artists and musicians.

HRI to manage Daddy-O: HRI Lodging was selected to manage the Daddy-O Hotel in Bay Harbor Islands in Miami. The 46-room hotel recently underwent a US$4 million renovation.
