Rosewood grows in Europe: Rosewood Hotels & Resorts was appointed by Duddingston House Properties and Urbanist Hotels to manage Rosewood Edinburgh in Scotland. The 147-key property will open in 2018 and will be Rosewood’s fourth property in Europe.

UAE spa tourism to double: The Global Wellness Institute reports that United Arab Emirates is leading spa tourism in the Middle East and North Africa, with visitor numbers set to double by 2017.

Potential smoking ban in NY hotel rooms: Hotels and motels in New York may no longer offer smoking rooms if a bill proposed by Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski passes. If passed, New York would join Michigan, North Dakota, Vermont and Wisconsin in prohibiting smoking in hotel rooms.
