Wyndham celebrates 1,000 hotels in China: Wyndham Hotel Group has become the first global hospitality company to reach the 1,000-hotel mark in Greater China. Later in 2015, the company expects to introduce its Tryp by Wyndham, Wyndham Garden and Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham brands to the region.
Unfavorable forecast in Houston: Randy McCaslin, senior vice president at PKF Consulting, said the combination of an increase in supply — 8,000 to 10,000 new rooms by 2017 — and a decrease in demand due to low oil prices will make for a rough 2016 for Houston’s hotel industry.
