Hudson NYC makes a statement

To draw attention to its “Poverty is Sexist” campaign, One Campaign last week partnered with Morgans Hotel Group’s Hudson New York City with an event that featured an interactive projection on the hotel’s façade highlighting supporters of the campaign.

Party guests took the campaign’s signature #Strengthie photos throughout the evening, which then appeared on the hotel’s facade slideshow within moments. Additional images featured #Strengthies from around the world showcasing the global support.

“Hudson has always embraced the empowerment of women, from the day the building opened in 1929 as the American Women’s Association clubhouse,” said Lauren Snyder, acting CMO, Morgans Hotel Group. “We believe in the efforts of the One campaign and wanted to stand in solidarity with their efforts to help women and girls in the poorest countries to reach their fullest potential. We felt compelled to send a message of support on the facade of our iconic building to coincide with the meeting of world leaders formulating global goals. It was a valued moment for our guests, our staff and the community surrounding Hudson.”

One also unveiled a new virtual reality film that demonstrates what it means to live with extreme poverty.

The Poverty is Sexist campaign calls for action to help the girls and women around the world who are fighting against extreme poverty. As part of One’s campaign, thousands of people have showed their solidarity by sharing a #strengthie – a selfie that pays homage to the iconic “Rosie the Riveter” image of female empowerment.
