Red Lion opens in NYC: Red Lion Hotels Corp. opened the Red Lion Inn & Suites Brooklyn, its first location in Greater New York City. The hotel will continue to be managed by Boast Hotel Management Co., an affiliate of Three Wall Capital.

Novotel debuts in the Philippines: AccorHotels will launch the first Novotel in the Philippines. The 401-room Novotel Manila Araneta Center is scheduled to open later in October.

Trump Hotels confirms breach: Trump Hotel Collection confirmed its payment data system was breached. The chain announced that it found malware that may have given hackers access to payment information, including account numbers, expiration dates and security codes, but it has not found any conclusive evidence that the information was taken or misused.  The data breach occurred between May 19, 2014, and June 2, 2015.

Vibe comes to Tasmania: Toga Far East Hotels secured the operating agreement for the first Vibe Hotel as part of a mixed-use development in Tasmania. The new hotel is scheduled to be completed in 2017.

Sofitel Munich Bayerpost sold: Deka Immobilien Invest GmbH, the real estate investment arm of Savings Bank Finance Group, acquired the 396-key Sofitel Munich Bayerpost, Germany, from E&P Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG  for approximately €180 million (US$201.3 million).
