Marriott unveils expansion plans: Marriott International announced an expected 75% increase in its Caribbean and Latin American distribution between 2015 and 2015. Marriott currently has 93 hotels open and more than 60 hotels under development in the Caribbean and Latin America.

Starwood expands in Mexico: Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will open W Punta de Mita in Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit in 2016. W Punta de Mita is owned by Fideicomiso Los Veneros and will be operated by Starwood Hotels& Resorts.

Carlson Rezidor signs in Fiji: Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group signed a management contract with Fund Trust Joint Venture, set up by majority shareholder iTaukei Trust Fund and minority shareholder Methodist Church Holdings Trust, to develop Park Inn by Radisson Fiji Suva. The 130-key Park Inn by Radisson Fiji Suva is scheduled to open in Q2 2018 and will be the second Carlson Rezidor hotel in Fiji.
