What’s Hot: Multi-phase renovation in Tokyo

Located 45 floors up in Midtown Tower, Tokyo’s tallest building, The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, unveiled its multi-phase transformative renovation in September. Led by Asia-based Design Studio Spin, the project was inspired by the city’s iconic skyline as well as Japanese natural elements and details.

The guestrooms and suites have been contemporized in dark shades of greys, purple and red to reflect Japanese aesthetic, while furnishings pay homage to exquisite Japanese patterns.

The club lounge embodies a luxurious residence, featuring four unique spaces, reception, garden terrace, dining room, and library lounge, each created with a different atmosphere for morning, day and evening. The new guestrooms and club lounge complete the luxury hotel’s multi-phase transformation that began with the re-opening of its signature restaurant, Hinokizaka in December 2014, along with the unveiling of the lobby lounge and bar.

“We are delighted to usher in the next chapter of this distinctive hotel,” says John Rolfs, vice president and general manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo. “Now more than ever, the global traveler is seeking a true sense of connection to the destination they are traveling and we look forward to welcoming guests to rediscover our hotel, while continuing to experience the iconic service that is synonymous with The Ritz-Carlton.”
