Earlier this month, IHG opened the doors of its first Even Hotels property in New York City. Designed by Glen & Co. in collaboration with IHG and architect of record Peter Poon Architects, the 150-room flagship Even Hotels New York – Times Square is situated in the heart of Midtown Manhattan and is targeted for wellness-minded travelers.
Even Hotels is IHG’s newest lifestyle brand and aims to help its guests “eat well, rest easy and accomplish more.” As such, Even Hotels New York – Times Square’s guestrooms feature eucalyptus fiber linens, LED lighting and ergonomically designed movable workspaces. Each room also features an in-room training zone, which provides a foam roller, yoga mat, yoga block, core exercise ball and a mounted fitness wall with resistance bands. Guestroom bathrooms include fully glass-enclosed rainfall showers and naturally derived bath produces from EO.
The onsite Cork & Kale Market and Bar offers a menu of freshly prepared food items, such as a yogurt bowl with house-made granola, a customizable signature black kale salad, flatbreads, all-natural burger and desserts. Hand-crafted cocktails made with organic and natural ingredients and freshly-squeezed orange juice from a Citrocasa machine are also available, while free-filtered water can be found throughout the hotel.
The hotel’s 1,200-square-foot (365.76-square-meter) athletic studio wraps around the ground level. Spin and yoga classes are offered at the studio, in addition to morning runs along the Hudson River led by the hotel’s chief wellness officer.
Other amenities include free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and the brand’s first “wellness den,” offering guests access to table games, music, and a reading corner.
