Hot Openings: Baccarat brings taste of Paris to NYC

Earlier this year, Chevalier opened on the ground floor of the Baccaret Hotel in New York City. Completed by Shawmut Design and Construction, the new restaurant features a modern design with French aesthetics that aims to reinvent the classic Parisian brasserie in Midtown Manhattan. Shawmut also worked alongside designer Stephen Sills Associates on the restaurant.

Chevalier is adorned with stained, wire-brushed pine on the walls and ceilings, metal and white opaque glass skylights and a column of red resign at the entrance.

The team’s scope of work spanned 18 weeks and involved installing new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to accommodate an 80-person dining room, bar area, and La Cour, a private, 14-person chef’s table.
