Award-winning play to be staged in NYC hotel room

In partnership with UK-based theater company Defibrillator, Langham Place, New York, Fifth Avenue will present “Insignificance” in its Executive Place Room. Opening in previews on February 19, the play was written by Tony Award-winner Terry Johnson and directed by James Hiller.

Guests can purchase individual tickets or experience the play through the “Insignificance – A Play in a Hotel Room Package,” which includes accommodations for two and two standard seating tickets. All ticket holders will also receive additional savings at Langham Place’s dining outlets on the day of the performance.

“Insignificance” takes place in 1953 with Albert Einstein, Marilyn Monroe, Joe DiMaggio and Senator Joseph McCarthy gathering in a hotel room to discuss and debate topics ranging from power, sex and politics. Defibrillator also partnered with Langham Hotels & Resorts in 2014 and 2015 to create Tennessee Williams’s “The Hotel Plays” and “The Armour” by Ben Ellis at The Langham, London.
