What’s Hot: Redesign at historic Santa Cruz resort

Chaminade Resort & Spa in Santa Cruz, California, recently unveiled the redesign of its guestrooms and suites. The design concept by CST Hospitality was inspired by games and is reflected in over-scaled dominos as room numbers and crossword puzzles in the corridors.

Santa Cruz’s history and craftsmanship are also reflected in the woven drums turned bedside tables. Blackened steel tables aim to add a vintage feel to the rooms, while deep red accent walls are the color of the tannery building. Photographs compiled by a local artist can also be found throughout the accommodations showing the famous train that connected Santa Cruz to and Francisco as well as scenes from the boardwalk.

“Our new design for Chaminade is playful, authentic and memorable,” said Jacqueline McGee, principal and director at CBT Hospitality “We created a fun and interactive guest room design with our abacus headboard that speaks across generations.”
