Accor reports revenue: Q1 2016 revenue at AccorHotels totaled €1.16 billion (US$1.32 billion). France, particularly Paris, continued to see an impact from the November terrorist attack. The company opened a record 8,961 rooms (46 hotels) in the period.

Jumeirah in Istanbul: Dubai Holding’s Jumeirah Groupwill operate a mixed-used development called Sea Pearl in the Ataköy district of Istanbul including a luxury hotel. The 202-room hotel and 62 residences is expected to open in 2019. The development will include a conference call, sports complex, spa and restaurants.

 


Xenia sells Doubletree: Xenia Hotels & Resorts sold the 220-room DoubleTree by Hilton Washington D.C. for US$65 million.  The buyer was not announced.

Airbnb wants you to “Live There”: Airbnb announced updates to its app that include a matching system that it says will help guests find homes and hosts that better align with their preferences. It’s also launching a feature called Guidebooks, which cull recommendations from hosts’ neighborhoods.

AC in suburban Cleveland: Fairmont Properties signed a deal with DelMonte Hotel Group of New York to develop an AC Hotel at the Pinecrest project in Orange. An opening date was not announced.
