Loews pop-up bar goes on tour

The Traveller Bar is toasting the current “golden age of cocktails” at Loews hotels this year.

The pop-up bar, constructed from an old elevator car, will offer rounds at 24 U.S. Loews locations. A menu of 32 classic cocktails traditionally prepared by mixologists will be available at the zinc-topped bar, which has four stools and a back metal mesh wall lined with bottles. Guests can browse nearly 50 vintage cocktail books, including the oldest cocktail recipe book, via an iPad.

“Our ultimate goal is to shake up the modern day drinking culture and honor the industry’s talented trendsetters, so we can help to educate, share and expand our creative food and beverage culture,” said Mark Weiss, SVP of food and beverage at Loews.

The tour kicked off in Chicago and then heads to the West Coast. Loews created a hashtag and website to track the bar.
