Ritz-Carlton launches ‘cultural’ spa experiences

Ritz-Carlton Hotel Group introduced the Ritz-Carlton Spa in 20 of its hotels around the world, aiming to tailor spa experiences “anchored in local culture, employing natural and organic solutions.”

The brand will kick off in hotels and resorts including New Orleans, Fort Lauderdale, Amelia Island, Moscow, Vienna, Cairo and Budapest.

“The Ritz-Carlton Spa concept is designed to extend even more of the unique and personal opportunities for wellness and indigenous experiences that our guests and global travelers seek,” said Hervé Humler, Ritz-Carlton’s president and COO.

At the Ritz-Carlton’s Dubai International Financial Centre, for instance, the “Desert Reviver” uses sand-based exfoliation and a hot stone massage and ends with a cooling treatment. In Moscow, honey treatments are used in a massage. In Sarasota, a full-body exfoliation features apricot and orange oils and an application of orange infused cream.

“The Ritz-Carlton Spa experience should be exceptional and memorable,” said Michelle Kelthy, spa director at The Ritz-Carlton in Naples, Florida, which offers a “Time is the Essence” consultation. Memorable might be the best way to describe the offering at the New Orleans hotel, where guests can have a “Voodoo Massage” that uses aromas of incense and voodoo chants to set a mood.
