AccorHotels enriches business travel: AccorHotels has entiched it subscription program for its business guests, AccorHotels Favorite Guest Business, and renamed it Business Plus. This annual subscription card allows companies to optimize employee travel costs and also offers a wider range of discounts and exclusive benefits in 2,700 hotels worldwide.

 


Anbang faces inspection: According to a “person with knowledge of the matter,” the China Insurance Regulatory Commission plans to send inspectors to Anband Insurance Group Co. The inspection comes amidst increased scrutiny of insurers’ investments in real estate and unlisted equities.

Six Senses to open in Fiji: Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas will open in Fiji in 2017. Six Senses Fiji will feature 24 pool villas, 66 residential villas, and a restaurant and bar with a wine cellar and tasting table.

Hilton enters Paraguay: Hilto Worldwide signed a management agreement with Grupo Rahal to operate a new-build, 120-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay. Construction for Hilton Garden Inn Ciudad del Este is set to begin later this year with an opening scheduled for 2020.

 


Singaporeans willing to splurge on travel: A recent study by Wyndham Rewards found that Singaporeans are still willing to splurge on travel. In the study based on 2,039 respondents from Singapore, 68% were looking for opportunities to save and have stated that they would be increasingly cost-conscious in their personal financial outlook for 2016. However, 81% of respondents said they would still travel about the same or more than the previous year, with 36% of respondents willing to spend half or more of their discretionary spending budget on travel.

Sleep Inn prototype: Choice Hotels’ International’s Sleep Inn brand unveiled a “cost-neutral” evolution of its current prototype. Changes include nature-inspired door appliques, open public areas with versatile seating, guestrooms with “slimmed-down” furnishings, a partially open closet and LED lighting.
