What’s Hot: Kimpton Palomar DC gets new look

Kimpton Hotel Palomar Washington, D.C. recently unveiled a multi-million dollar redesign to its 335 guestrooms and suites, public areas, and meeting and event spaces. The project was designed by Powerstrip Studios and was inspired by the hotel’s proximity to Georgetown University and other surroundings schools and art galleries.

The lobby’s new color palette includes sky blues and lemony yellows. With “unexpected art pieces,” the lobby is intended as a space for “creative minds” to linger by the marble fireplace.

Guestrooms and suites also have a similar preppy color scheme with pops of marigold, union blue and oxford white. Smart quartz workspaces outfitted with built-in power plugs and plush ergonomic chairs face the windows from which guests can view the active cityscape while working.

The hotel’s executive, spa and presidential suites have been redesigned with the same finishes as the guestrooms with additional artwork and accents. A new bridal suite has also been added and includes a sparkling framed full-length mirror, tri-fold decorative mirrors, clear ghost chairs positioned near the windows for natural light, a two-seat table vanity, and wall hooks for wedding gowns.
