‘Impact experiences’ for Ritz group guests

Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. announced the launch of a new program to offer group guests opportunities to participate in socially responsibly activities during their stay at the hotels.

The program, Impact Experiences, aims to offer “socially responsible activities that make a positive impact on the destination while fostering collaboration and a great sense of accomplishment,” according to the company, and to enable participants to connect with the local community.

The hotel offered some examples of Impact Experiences: a heritage farming project on an organic farm in Arizona; restoring coastal trail and rain forests in Kapalua, Hawaii; protecting wetlands near Vienna, Austria; and planting the endangered native species of trees in Dubai. The program also offers activities that could be incorporated into a conference agenda, including partnering with the hotel’s culinary team to prepare the ingredients for a regionally adapted dish for donation to a local hunger relief organization.

The company made the announcement at a recent United Nations summit on socially responsible travel.
