What’s Hot: Marriott Stanton South Beach update

The beachfront Marriott Stanton South Beach completed the second phase of a US$22 million renovation by updating many of its public spaces.

The renovations were designed by New York-based Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and included the lower lobby, pools and outdoor terrace, meeting rooms and porte-cochere.

The lower lobby now features new reception desks in front of a timber-paneled wall filled with a collage of eclectic artwork, as well as new light green and sand-colored terrazzo flooring. Timber paneling is used on the hotel’s front exterior, while the porte-cochere has new pavers, foliage and white walls.

The meeting spaces received new furniture, flooring, light fixtures, paint and décor with an Art Deco theme of mixed patterns and blue, light teal and soft neutrals. The poolside area, landscaped and with unobstructed ocean views with new lounge chairs, umbrellas and day beds on modern tiling and wooden timber decks.

Future renovations will focus on the upper lobby, outdoor terrace, spa and fitness center. Four new restaurant concepts are scheduled to open in 2016 and 2017 from Plan Do See, a hospitality brand based in Japan.
