Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Minnetonka, Minnesota, has launched a pilot program that will offer bike rental stations at select hotels.
Avanti bike rentals will be available to guests at participating hotels via stations provided by Spinway, a company that installs and manages self-contained bike rental stations. The rental stations consist of an electronic credit card processing unit attached to a rack of between 4 to 32 bikes.
The bike features puncture proof tires, a chain protector, enclosed internal gears and brakes, internal cabling, a low step frame for a wide range of riders, adjustable seat and custom basket carrier.
“We understand that over the past few years, the popularity of bike transportation has sky rocketed,” said Javier Rosenberg, chief operating officer, Americas, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “Consumers have a growing need for more exercise, especially when they travel and want to contribute to a greener environment, bikes provide that and in many cases an easier and certainly more cost effective form of transportation.”
