What’s Hot: ‘Contemporary safari’ in South Africa’

After undergoing a significant renovation, Singita Lebombo Lodge aims to offer “the most forward-thinking, contemporary safari experience in Africa.” Originally opened in 2001 at Kruger National Park in South Africa, the renovation was creatively directed by Boyd Ferguson with architecture by Sally Tsiliyiannis of GAPP Architects & Urban Designers and interiors by Cécile & Boyd.

Enhancements consist of an expansion to the guest areas, including a new temperature-controlled, multi-level space. Texture is used throughout the lodge, such as watercolor and smudged inky toned artworks, glazed earthenware, stone-washed linens, and soft, gauzy drapes. The color palette consists of greys, blondes, and charcoal browns to highlight minimalist interiors.

Set apart from the main lodge are two new family suites, each with a private pool. The exclusive-use villa has a full-sized swimming pool, interactive kitchen and boma. Additionally, a new lap pool is tucked away below the existing swimming pool. The pool deck was also re-designed to be discreet and completely private and offers pool loungers and day beds that are separated by bamboo screens.
