Hilton in Baltics: Hilton Worldwide is bringing its midscale Hilton Garden Inn brand to Lithuania and Latvia by 2018. That follows news last month that the company had opened a hotel in Estonia. The Hilton Garden Inn Vilnius City Centre, in a franchise agreement with EIKA, will have up to 150 rooms and be part of a multi-use development. Negotiations with hotel operators are pending. Hilton Garden Inn Riga Old Town will be a 100-room property, to open under a franchise with Apex Alliance and managed by UAB Apex Alliance Management.

 


Davidson adds Atlanta Marriott: Real estate advisory and investment firm Davidson Hotels & Resorts added the 341-room Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Center to its portfolio. Integrated Capital is the new owner.

 


Trump settles with workers: The Trump Organization agreed to pay US$11,200 in back pay to two workers at Trump’s Las Vegas hotel over claims they were punished for trying to organize employees into a labor union.

New leader in digital travel sales: Digital travel sales in the Asia-Pacific region will surpass those in North America next year, making it the largest regional market in the world, according to eMarketer’s worldwide digital travel sales forecast. APAC sales will reach US$215.92 billion, thanks to lot of activity in China.

Red Roof in Japan: Red Roof opened its first hotel in Japan this month. The 224-room Red Roof Plus hotel in Namba-Osaka, which underwent a US$14 million renovation, was formerly the Floral Inn.

 


Indian aggregator investment: Treebo Hotels raised US$17 million from Bertelsmann India Investments and two other investors for its budget hotel aggregator that offers standards among a network of partner hotels in India.
