What’s Hot: ‘Deep in the art of Texas’

HKS Hospitality Group unveiled its renovation of the 1880s-era Hotel Saint George in Marfa, Texas. The redesign aims to combine the “austere beauty of the surrounding desert plains as well as the minimalist art for which the town is known.”

The lobby mixes retro furnishings with industrial style centerpieces, including a mahogany and steel reception desk that stretches the length of the lobby. Marfa Book Company, an independent bookstore and bookstore, also is part of the hotel lobby.

The hotel’s 55 guestrooms and suites have been updated with an “understated, streamlined fashion with hints of industrial flair.” Rooms include distressed leather and steel elements paired with lush sheepskin rugs and white cotton bedding. Local art, timber surface flooring and sliding barn doors are also included in the new design.

LaVenture restaurant serves rustic American-style cuisine with French and Italian influences. Wine and private dining rooms are also available for reservation.
