In preparation for September’s opening of QT Melbourne, QT Hotels and Resorts is asking local artists to submit a creative interpretation of a QT Melbourne room number from 1 to 101 in “any form imaginable,” such as painting, dance, song, photography, a piece of writing or even a performance. Participants must submit their original pieces via Instagram using the hashtags #RoomNumberRedo and #QTMelbourne.
Winners will receive an overnight stay at the designer hotel along with a ticket to the property’s launch event. The competition is now open and judges include:
- Australian artist and designer Gemma O’Brien
- Art director and curator Fabio Ongarato
- Melbourne-based DJ and Los Angeles restaurateur Grant Smillie
- Australia’s first “professional Instagrammer” Lauren Bath
- Australian contemporary artist Elliott Routlegde
- Model Kris Smith
- Melbourne-based street-style photographer Liz Sunshine
- Founder and publisher of Broadsheet Nick Shelton, and
- Cummins & Partners’ global chief strategy officer Adam Ferrier
“We want the launch of QT Melbourne to be shared with the heart and soul of the Melbourne creative community, #RoomNumberRedo will really enable this,” said David Seargeant, managing director at QT Hotels & Resorts.
