Hot Openings: Grupo Habita makes Chicago debut

This fall, Grupo Habita will make its Chicago debut with The Robey and The Hollander. Developed by Convexity Properties, the Chicago location will mark the group’s second U.S. flagship, following the launch of Hotel Americano in New York City.

The Robey and The Hollander aim to embody the values of Grupo Habita: “the genuine warmth of Mexican hospitality, the feeling of an extended family looking after you with our intuitive service and thoughtful amenities.”

Designed by Belgian duo Nicolas Schuybroek Architects and Marc Merckx Interiors, The Robey includes 69 contemporary rooms. On the ground floor, Cafe Robey, serves French-American fare while the guest-only rooftop on the 13th floor, Up & Up, will offer drinks created by in-house expert mixologists.

Opening simultaneously with The Robey, The Hollander will be the home of the “Social Stay,” with 20 private and shared rooms by Ciguë and Delordinaire. Guests can hare their social media profiles with other guests in the room, giving visitors a chance to connect and engage before they even arrive. The Hollander will also offer a coffee and grab-and-go counter as well as an onsite bike rental and repair shop.
