What’s Hot: Le Méridien Etoile unveils reno

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts last week unveiled the completion of the multi-million dollar renovation of Le Méridien Etoile in Paris. Led by architecture firm Michaelis Boyd in partnership with French interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel, the transformation includes updates to guestrooms, suites, the jazz club, all public spaces and the addition of a new creative meetings concept.

The 1,025-room hotel is the flagship hotel for Le Méridien, the first property for the brand when it was created in 1972 by Air France. Guestrooms feature a “stylized translation” of the River Seine on the walls as well as illustrated maps of Parisian arrondissements on the beds’ headboards. The color palette is comprised of grey, light blue and charcoal with several accent colors.

The Hub is Le Méridien’s signature lobby concept and includes an interlocking chandelier that represent the artery of routes leading to the hotel, with steel columns and archways. Another revitalized space, the Jazz Club Etoile that was originally created in 1975, includes an updated menu as well as a renovation that includes bright colors and vintage furniture.

“With a stronger and more globally diverse portfolio than ever before, Le Méridien has hit its stride with guests and locals as well as owners and developers around the world,” said Brian Povinelli, global brand leader at Le Méridien.  “We are delighted to have the crown jewel of our brand shining brightly once more in the City of Light, as Le Méridien returns to its roots with distinctive design and bold ‘Destination Unlocked’ positioning.”
