Dream Hotel Group made three appointments at its West Coast flagship, Dream Hollywood: Ayo Akinsete as general manager, from GM at Dream Downtown in New York; Kendall Viola as director of sales and marketing, from Hotel Indigo Lower East Side in New York; and Carly Skinner as hotel manager, from director of rooms at Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica, California. The hotel is slated to open next month.
Mainsail Lodging & Development promoted Evelyn Avazier and Wanda Sanchez to corporate director of training and corporate director of human resources, respectively. Avazier was director of human resources and training at the Epicurean Hotel, a Mainsail property. Sanchez is an eight-year veteran at Mainsail in the human resources department.
FairBridge Hotels International, owner of the FairBridge Inns and Loyalty Inns brands, named Rajiv Bhatia CEO of FairBridge Hotels. Previously, Bhatia led the Knights Inn brand at Wyndham Hotel Group.
Swire Hotels appointed Giovanni Beretta vice president of Swire Hotels in the USA and general manager of EAST, Miami. Most recently, he was managing director of The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel in New York.
Nikki Beach Worldwide appointed Thomas Brosig president. Prior, Brosig served as president and CEO for Margaritaville Casino & Restaurant in Biloxi, Mississippi, and as president and CEO of Brosig Group Consulting Services.
HRI Lodging and River’s Edge Hotel & Spa in Portland, Oregon, named Paige Carlson director of sales. Carlson re-joins the hotel after earlier serving as director of sales and in sales positions for properties including The Nines in Portland and The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The London NYC appointed Kang Choe executive chef. He previously was executive sous chef at the New York Hilton.
The Time New York appointed Leiya Cohen director of operations. Previously, Cohen was the hotel’s director of front office.
Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur appointed Michael Delargy general manager. Most recently, he was general manager of the Westin Nanjing, China.
Trump Hotels appointed Georg Garnitschnig vice president of sales and marketing at Trump National Doral. In 2015, Garnitschnig launched Hotel Sales and Marketing Solutions.
SBE appointed Jorge Giannattasio chief operating officer. Prior to his current position, he held leadership roles at Starwood Hotels and Resorts, most recently as senior vice president and chief of Latin America and Caribbean operations of Starwood Hotels.
Brian Gleeson joined the Radisson Blu Royal in Copenhagen as general manager, along with Helene Hallre as hotel manager. Previously, Gleeson was GM for three hotels in Stavanger. Hallre comes from the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Oslo.
Miami-based developer, owner and manager Elandis appointed Paul Hanley head of hospitality, overseeing asset management. Most recently, he was CEO of Grace Hotels.
Tim Herrmann joined Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina’s leadership team as general manager. Most recently, he was GM at the Santa Clara Marriott.
Steven Hurst has been named general manager of Salishan Spa & Golf Resort. He previously was GM of the Heathman Hotel in Portland, Oregon.
The Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport named Dustin Imbesi director of sales and marketing. He most recently held the same position at the Hyatt Regency Reston in Virginia.
SiuYin Ko has been appointed corporate director of sales by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Hong Kong. Previous positions include forming Chrysalis Development Group, which provides strategic services to hotel brands.
Shaner Hotel Group appointed Kathy Kolar director of sales and marketing for the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center. Her more recent responsibilities include the pre-opening marketing for the Hotel Indigo in Pittsburgh and implementing the sales & marketing, revenue management and forecasting plans for the Hilton Garden Inn University Place.
Jason Kycek has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas. He previously was VP of sales and marketing at the Edgewater Hotel & Spa.
The Sheraton Bay Point Resort in Northwest Florida named Shane Miller executive chef and director of F&B. He previously was area executive chef overseeing food & beverage operations at the Palms Casino Resort Las Vegas, Winstar Casino in Norman Oklahoma, and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
The Resort at Pedregal in Los Cabos, Mexico, named Isaac Novoa director of food and beverage. Previously, Novoa ran food and beverage programs at hotels including Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa, Thompson Playa del Carmen and Moon Palace Sunrise.
Renaissance New York Times Square named Daniel Ritacco executive chef. Previously, he held positions at Marriott Park Ridge and Marriott Newark Liberty Airport.
Mike Robinson has been named general manager for the Kimpton De Witt, set to open this spring in Amsterdam. Most recently, he ran the Kimpton Palomar in Washington, D.C.
L.E. Hotels, Beverly Hills, California, appointed Peter Rockwood vice president of sales. Prior, Rockwood was vice president of sales for Salamander Hotels & Resorts.
Hilton Phoenix Airport Hotel appointed Sally Shaffer general manager. Most recently, Shaffer was GM at the Hilton Sonoma Wine Country. In addition, Lynn Flosi joins as director of sales and marketing. Flosi most recently served as DOSM for the Crowne Plaza Airport North Hotel in Phoenix. And Hammad Akbar joins as director of food and beverage. Akbar most recently was food & beverage director at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Resort
Chandreshwar Singh has been appointed general manager of Tsogo Sun’s hotel complex in Cape Town, South Africa. The hotel is set to open in September 2017. He previously was at the InterContinental Johannesburg Sandton Towers as hotel manager.
Corinthia Hotels appointed Jennifer Tyler PR manager for the group’s flagship hotel in London. She joins from David Collins Studio, the interior design and architecture practice, where she was communications manager.
