Matthias Al-Amiry will now manage the 5-star Adlon Kempinski Berlin at Brandenburg Gate. He succeeds Emile Bootsma, who has held the reins there since September 2014. Al-Amiry most recently held the position of vice president of hotel operations, responsible for the development and pre-opening phase of the 1,500-room hotel project MGM Cotai, Macau.

Four Seasons Resort Lanai appointed David Arraya as resort manager. Arraya joins the hotel following a number of senior management positions at luxury resorts across the United States and Asia.

Wischermann Partners appointed Mike Burton as general manager of The Westin Jackson, set to open in Jackson, Mississippi, in late summer. Burton most recently served as general manager of The Westin Chicago Northwest in Itasca, Illinois.

The Willard InterContinental, Washington, D.C., named Simon Chapman as hotel manager. Chapman has over 18 years of experience in InterContinental Hotel Group hotels throughout North America and Europe.

Benchmark named Joseph M. DeMille Sr. as director of sales and marketing for The Chattanoogan in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He most recently was the director of sales and marketing for Turnberry Isle Miami.

DoubleTree Resort by Hilton, Myrtle Beach Oceanfront, appointed Alan Fabris as director of sales and marketing. Fabris, who was most recently area director of sales and marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, will also oversee advertising and public relations efforts at the 452-room resort.

Stonebridge Companies named Anne Frye regional director of sales and marketing, Michael De Stefano as IT project manager and Ninfa Chavez as director of talent acquisition in Denver, Colorado.

Pocono Manor Resort & Spa in Pocono Manor, Pennsylvania, named Lynn Kennedy executive chef. Kennedy’s culinary career includes positions at luxury properties such as the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida, and the Peaks Resort in Telluride, Colorado. 

Orlando World Center Marriott appointed Steve Lipschutz as director of food and beverage. Most recently, Lipschultz served as food and beverage director at the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes.

Dalhousie Castle, part of the Robert Parker Collection of hotels and located just outside of Edinburgh, named James Little as general manager. Little joins Dalhousie Castle from The Lincoln Hotel, where he was employed as general manager for the past three years.

M&R Hotel Management named Felix Maldonado as general manager of the 250-room Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square South, scheduled to open in June.

Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour, set to open in summer, appointed its executive team: Julian Moore as general manager, Mark Guthrie as director of sales and marketing, and Adrian Pulido as director of rooms.

The 146-room boutique Hotel Emma, in San Antonio, Texas, named Bill Petrella as general manager. Petrella previously held a 19-year tenure with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where he managed six properties.

Teneo Hospitality Group appointed Christie Post as director of sales northwest. Post has over 20 years of global hotel sales experience, primarily on the west coast.

The Kimpton Hotel Zamora in St. Pete Beach, Florida, named Paul Romero as director of sales and marketing. Romero most recently served as a senior sales executive at Hilton St. Petersburg.

Deutsche Hospitality appointed staff to three new roles in its international sales operations. Aghy Sati will take on the newly created position of regional director of sales and marketing for the Middle East and will be based at the company’s Representative Office in Dubai, with Zeynep Erol taking on all sales activities in the country. Singapore-based Colvent Hu will become regional director of sales for South East Asia.

New Castle Hotels & Resorts appointed Trevor Stratton as general manager of the 138-room Hampton Inn & Suites Jekyll Island, and will oversee an upcoming upgrade to the hotel’s rooms and public spaces. Stratton returns to the hotel following two years as the director of operations for the 200-room, full service Westin Jekyll Island. 

Real estate investor, developer Lightstone appointed Gary Thomas as area managing director for Moxy New York and Lauren Levin as senior vice president, Moxy Hotels brand and marketing. 

Mark Van Amerongen and four other staff members have been promoted at Prism Hotels and Resorts in Dallas, Texas. Van Amerongen was promoted from senior vice president of operations to chief operating officer, Chris Charbonnet from regional vice president of operations to senior vice president of operations, Doll Ogden from corporate director of revenue optimization to vice president of revenue optimization, Paul Mengacci from corporate director of financial services to vice president of finance and analytics, and George Davis from corporate taskforce engineer/project manager to corporate director of engineering.

The yet-to-open Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown hotel announced several staff positions: Raymond Vermolen as general manager, Bruce Curry as director of sales and marketing and Kevin Harry as director of food and beverage. The hotel will open March 2.
