Sunset Tower Hotel: Managing Partner Jeff Klein has exercised a right of first offer and made a deal with an unidentified partner to buy the storied Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, California, according to the New York Post. Last month, majority owners put the Art Deco landmark up for sale hoping to fetch US$100 million.

 


Wine bar owners sue Trump: The owners of a Washington wine bar have sued U.S. President Donald Trump for unfair competition, claiming he’s using the power of the presidency to unfairly attract business to his luxury hotel near the White House.

Helmsley Sandcastle scrapped: Plans are underway to redevelop the Sandcastle Resort at Lido Beach, long known as the Helmsley Sandcastle, into a larger, more contemporary waterfront hotel. The new vision calls for a new 304-room hotel spanning two curved towers. A multimillionaire Maltese dog named “Trouble,” who was bequeathed the hotel by his and the resort’s long-time owners, New York billionaires Harry and Leona Helmsley, also owned the resort at one time.
