Hot Openings: JW Marriott Phu Quoc an island retreat

JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts opened JW Marriott Phu Quoc, Emerald Bay, on Vietnam’s largest island.

It’s the second hotel for the brand in Vietnam, and it was designed by interior designer Bill Bensley. Phu Quoc has 244 guestrooms, suites and villas, and five restaurants and bars. Dining options include Tempus Fugit, offering Vietnamese cuisine, contemporary Japanese fare and classic French food. French & Co has signature pastries and desserts; Red Rum features local seafood dishes served beachside; Department of Chemistry offers local drinks with views of the bay. Pink Pearl is scheduled to open this spring and will serve Cantonese cuisine.

Located within the resort is Rue de Lamarck, which features artisanal boutiques and cafés. Daily activities include Vietnamese martial arts and lantern making, cooking classes and wellness activities.

The resort has a private beach and three outdoor pools and Spa by JW, a new concept for the brand, and 1,100 square meters of indoor/outdoor meeting space along with a 715-square-meter Grand Ballroom.
