Hot Openings: Trump Int’l Hotel & Tower Vancouver

TA Global Bhd.’s Trump International Hotel & Tower Vancouver has opened, though a number of bigwig city officials failed to show up for the hotel’s official debut.

Designed by famed architect Arthur Erickson, the US$360 million tower is the city’s second-tallest building at 69 stories high. The property is the first luxury hotel to open in the city in close to three years, and the second Trump Hotel property in Canada.

Notable city officials, including Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson, did not attend the hotel’s opening, according to reporting by the LA Times.

Hotel amenities include: The Spa by Ivanka Trump; award-winning fine dining Chinese restaurant, Mott 32; the Drai’s Vancouver lounge; and The Trump Champagne Lounge.

Each of the 147 luxury guest rooms and suites has floor-to-ceiling windows, with views of the downtown area. The hotel has 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

The property offers guests its signature Trump Attaché program featuring personalized 24-hour VIP treatment. The service includes use of luxury house cars, personal shopping services, pet walking and more.
