1 Hotels ‘not so’ creative with room service amenities

To elevate and bring greater attention to its room service amenities, Starwood Capital’s eco-luxury hotel brand, 1 Hotels, has launched a menu of curated goodthings and (not so) goodthings. The menu is in place at 1 Hotel South Beach, with sister properties 1 Hotel Central Park and the newly-opened 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge set to unveil their own unique experiences over the next few months.

In line with the brand ethos of initiating change and making a difference, 1 Hotels is partnering with Action Against Hunger, an organization dedicated to fighting hunger and eliminating malnutrition around the world, for its new amenity program. Each time guests orders from (not so) goodthings, 1 Hotels will donate a portion of the proceeds to Action Against Hunger’s Porridge Moms project. With this program, guests are able to give back with proceeds going toward pregnant women and new mother education, as well as peer support to improve nutrition and health for their children.

1 Hotels has created a package for kids on property. A set of binoculars and custom Seedling backpack takeaway to round out the experience with a build-your-own bird glider, and an on-the-go granola pack from the hotel’s signature restaurant Jams. It is available to e-order from US$125 at 1 Hotel South Beach and US$50 per Seedling at 1 Hotel Central Park.

Goodthings will soon unveil several other experiences unique to the ambiance of each 1 Hotel. For example, at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, guests will have the option to select from a variety of offerings highlighting the surrounding community, including a make your own four-pack in which guests can choose from a selection of local craft beers. Both New York hotels are also planning to launch picnic experiences during warmer months.
