Island Hotel Newport Beach named Bob Arrivillaga director of sales and marketing. Arrivillaga was recently with the acclaimed Montage Deer Valley in Park City, Utah, where he was associate director of group sales.

Stetsons Modern Steak + Sushi, the steakhouse and sushi bar located inside Hyatt Regency Chicago, promoted Isidro Arroyo to chef de cuisine.

Chuck Barth was named project manager for Stonebridge Companies in Denver, Colorado. Barth was most recently with Hyphen Construction as operational and project management.

Reunion Resort has appointed Jacob “Jake” Brenchley as chef de cuisine for its restaurant, Eleven. 

Wyndham Worldwide appointed Michael D. Brown as president and chief executive officer of Wyndham Vacation Ownership. Brown most recently served as chief operating officer of Hilton Grand Vacations.

Las Terrazas, a 5-star resort in Belize, appointed Julian Burton as general manager. Burton most recently served as general manager of Cenizaro Hotels and Resorts’ The Residence Zanzibar. 

JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa named Cristiano Cabutti area director sales and marketing for southern Europe. Cabutti has been director of sales and marketing at the hotel since 2013, overseeing the opening of the brand’s first Italian property.

JW Marriott Chicago appointed Ken Craven as director of event planning and Justin Wilkinson as destination sales executive.

Daniel Draxl was appointed marketing manager at Baros Maldives, a private island resort. Prior to joining Baros, Draxl served as the marketing manager at Kitzbühel Tourism Board.

Massimo Falsini was named executive chef at Solage, a 5-star Auberge Resort in Napa Valley. Prior to joining Solage, Falsini served as executive chef at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Hawaii, where he led the culinary operations for seven restaurants.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts appointed Christian Gonzalez as regional director of sales and marketing for the Mexico region. Most recently, he served as the director of sales and marketing at the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara. 

Yotel Boston, set to open in June, named Christopher Hartzell as general manager.

The Days Inn Chicago Hotel is being converted into the Hotel Versey, a Chicago-based lifestyle hotel set to open in late spring. The new property appointed Stefanie Hrejsa as general manager and Scott Ray as operations manager – both of whom bring 20 years of experience to these roles as the former leadership team of the Days Inn.

Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa in Texas named Dave Jacobs as general manager. Jacobs joins the property from Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago where he worked as general manager for over 10 years.

Hilton named Qian Jin as the company’s first area president for Greater China and Mongolia. Jin most recently served as president of Wanda Hotels & Resorts, one of Hilton’s largest owners in Greater China.

Costa Rican-based boutique villa hotel Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas named José Lopez as executive chef at the hotel’s Sentido Norte Restaurant and Bar.

Enchantment Group appointed Greg Miller as executive vice president of operations.

Trump Hotels made two executive appointments: Suzie Mills as area managing director of Trump Hotels in New York, and Prince A. Sanders as general manager of Trump International Hotel & Tower New York.

The Westin Chicago Northwest named Peter Menteer executive chef.

Kate Nawracaj was named midwest group sales director of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Prior to joining Preferred, Kate was with Starwood Hotels for 17 years, most recently serving as account director, global sales.

Hotel VIA, an independently operated and owned hotel located in San Francisco’s South Beach neighborhood, appointed Barbara Perzigian as general manager and Jerry Leap as director of sales and marketing. The 159-room boutique property is scheduled to open in May.

Felicia Rahm was named director of sales for The Copley Square Hotel, a Gemstone Collection property in Boston. Rahm was most recently the director of sales and marketing for the Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.

Jamie Reiter was named meeting and event manager at The Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. Previously, she served as a meeting and event manager at the Monarch Beach Resort.

California’s JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa named Tom Tabler general manager. Most recently, Tabler was general manager at the Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa, also in California.

Rudy Tauscher was appointed general manager of Sofitel New York.

Bardessono Hotel & Spa in Yountville, California has made two hires: James Te’o, a level 1 sommelier, was appointed director of food & beverage for Bardessono and its signature restaurant, Lucy, and Sileshi Mengiste was appointed vice president of operations for Remington in Napa Valley.
