Radisson Blu to go carbon-free with meetings

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s Radisson Blu brand is offsetting the carbon footprint of its meetings by supporting water projects in Guatemala, Malawi and India.

The Blu Planet for Meetings program aims to make the brand carbon-free worldwide by the end of the year and supports U.N. Sustainable Development goals, the company said.

Carlson Rezidor is partnering with First Climate, a Frankfurt-based developer of global carbon reduction projects. “Since the COP21 climate accord, an increasing number of corporations are concerned about fighting climate change and about reducing their carbon footprints, also when they plan meetings,” says Inge Huijbrechts, vice president of responsible business at Carlson Rezidor. “Water sustainability is an important commitment from Radisson Blu, and we are delighted

to partner with First Climate on dedicated water projects that will have a positive impact on communities as we help provide safe drinking water.”
