Update: Sahara refutes story about sale of the Plaza

Representatives from Dream Hotel Group Chairman Sant Chatwal in New York contacted HOTELS on Thursday evening with a statement refuting a story hotelsmag.com ran on the same day citing a New York Post report about the potential sale of the Plaza hotel in New York. Dream Hotel Group manages the food and beverage operations at the Plaza.

Here is the statement from Russell Rosen, attorney for the Sahara U.S. Corp.:

“The article in the New York Post suggests that Prince Al-Waleed and Ashkenazy have a right to force a buyout of The Plaza Hotel. It also suggests Prince Al-Waleed and Ashkenazy have a right to buy the hotel. Neither of these statements are true. There are no current discussions with Prince Al-Waleed or Ashkenazy concerning the purchase or sale of The Plaza Hotel.”
