Emaar in Makkah: Emaar Hospitality Group’s Address Hotels & Resorts will manage a 1,490-key hotel in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The developer is Jabal Omar Development Company. Jabal Omar Address Makkah, scheduled to open in 2019, will be the first Address in the country.

Hotel attack Somalia: At least 19 people were killed Wednesday when Islamist militants launched a car bomb and gun attack on the Posh Hotel in the Somali capital south Mogadishu. Al Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack. The group claimed on Thursday morning it killed more than 20 people including soldiers and government workers.

Mövenpick: Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts will open its sixth hotel in Switzerland. The 5-star, 264-room hotel in Basel will open in 2019, designed by renowned Miller & Maranta, with interiors by Matteo Thun. 

 


Auberge in Austin: Auberge Resorts Collection will manage the Commodore Perry Estate, being developed in Austin, Texas. The ownership team is Austin-based developers Clark Lyda, The Marchbanks Company and Austin Pfiester. The estate will have 53 guest rooms, event space and a restaurant.

Ascott: The Ascott Limited will manage three properties under its Lyf brand, a co-living concept, in China and Singapore. Its first such property, the 112-unit Lyf Wu Tong Island Shenzhen, will open in the first half of 2018. The 120-unit Lyf DDA Dalian is scheduled to open at year-end 2018, and Lyf Farrer Park Singapore, with 240 units, is slated to open in 2021.
