The Hot: Hotel Landing, small hotel, mighty mobile check-in

The Hotel Landing may be in the very small town of Wayzata, Minnesota (pop. 4,449) but guests at the boutique hotel will still have the very cosmopolitan opportunity to check in using their mobile phones.

In addition to mobile check in, guests can access their room, order room service and watch TV, all using the The Hotel Landing app.

The 92-room boutique hotel – the first to grace the shores of Lake Minnetonka in over 50 years – also has a 1,100-square-foot presidential suite with a living room with seating for ten, double-sided fireplace, bar, wine storage and fourth-floor balcony.

Ninetwentyfive, a two-story restaurant that seats 285, also has a private dining room. The property also includes include a Nordic-style spa, fitness area, 4,200- square-feet of upscale meeting and banquet facilities, and 17,000-square-feet of retail space. The building also has 31 luxury residential condominiums.

Developer Steve Bohl said he predicted 60-70% of the guests would be business travelers with the rest leisure. Bohl said he expects 27,000-30,000 hotel guests each year.

The Hotel Landing, which is the final block of The Promenade of Wayzata, is locally owned by BohLand Hotel Group, managed by Hay Creek Hotels, and designed by The Cuningham Group.
