Blackstone Group recently made about a US$3 billion offer to acquire RLJ Lodging Trust, a move that would have trumped RLJ’s deal to acquire FelCor Lodging Trust, according to a Friday Wall Street Journal report.
RLJ said in a securities filing Monday that it rejected a US$24-a-share offer from an unnamed private-equity firm, which turned out to be Blackstone.
It’s not clear if Blackstone intends to make another offer, the reports said.
