Come for the golf, but stick around for that big meeting: Pebble Beach Resorts, a 99-year-old golf course and resort, has updated its offerings on the California coast to include a new meeting facility, along with 38 new guest rooms and two cottages.
Interior design for Fairway One at The Lodge at Pebble Beach was done by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), while the exterior building architecture is by local Monterey-based firm Fletcher + Hardoin.
The two cottages, each with four bedrooms off a common living room, are named for two owners and board members of Pebble Beach Company – actor Clint Eastwood and golfer Arnold Palmer. Each cottage fronts the first fairway and features a 1,000-square-foot living room, two king bedrooms, two queen/queen bedrooms and an outdoor terrace with fire pit.
Living rooms have 17-foot-high wood-beam ceilings, wood millwork and floor-to-ceiling stacked stone fireplaces, a wet bar and a dining area. The color palette is white with earth tones, in keeping with the style of The Lodge.
The new guest rooms, located behind the cottages, start at 660 square feet. They feature picture windows and terraces, and a neutral color scheme.
The meeting facility features several meeting and event space options. Its centerpiece is the 2,500-square-foot Fairway One Meeting Room with a capacity of 225, looking out towards the first green through floor-to-ceiling windows. Other spaces include a board room, a living room-style pre-event space and a terrace patio.
Pebble Beach Company owns and operates three hotel properties and four golf courses, among other properties in California. The Lodge at Pebble Beach will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2019.
