Set to open in November, the 115-room hotel is the first location in continental Europe for UK-based Saco, a serviced apartment provider.

Representatives of Saco said the company has the building on a long lease and therefore could not comment on development cost.

Interior design comes from UK-based Nicky Ford at Joseph King Interiors and the architect is Amsterdam-based Rappange and Partners.

The design style combines classic English with contemporary Dutch. Vibrant orange velvet sofas are paired alongside Dutch pieces made from local woods. The building is typically Dutch with tall, narrow stairways and the furniture was designed in sections in order to get it into the far reaches of the building.

Each of the 115 apartments has been restored with a kitchen in each canal-house. Wittenberg features four apartment categories: studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. An exposed wooden beams gives a sense of space, while creating a personal atmosphere. The all-white walls increase the natural light and pastel furniture pieces, warm timber tones and black metal were used to accent the apartment’s open feel.
