People on the move: Week of November 20, 2017

Food and beverage operations manager, chief financial officer, president. The people making this week’s moves.

Raffles Dubai appointed Zeynep ?den Agagil director of sales & marketing. Zeynep joins Raffles Dubai from Ciragan Palace Kempinski in Istanbul, where she held the role of director of sales & marketing for the previous two years.

Colin Ankersen was named general manager for The Heldrich in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Prior to joining Benchmark, Ankersen was vice president of Boast Management and general manager at the Westminster Hotel, located in Livingston, New Jersey.

Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino appointed Anthony Armas director of sales and marketing. Most recently, Armas served as director of sales and marketing of Marriott Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Beach Resort in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. 

Standard International made two appointments: Amber Asher is now president of Standard International and Jimmy Suh was appointed chief commercial officer and president of One Night. 

Miami-based SLS Brickell made several appointments: Neil A. Bierwagen as general manager, Laurayne Croke as director of sales, and Dawn Neils as director of marketing.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts appointed Sharon Cabral as the area director of sales and marketing for the Northern California area. Most recently, Cabral served as director of sales and marketing at Rosewood Sand Hill.

Bradford Cobb was named chief financial officer at Mohegan Sun Pocono in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He previously served as vice president of finance at Hollywood Casino in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 

Emiliano Andres Di Franca was appointed food and beverage operations manager of Rosewood Washington, D.C. Prior to joining Rosewood, Di Franca served as the general manager of the SLS Brickell’s Fi’lia by Michael Schwartz in Miami, Florida.

The Virginia-based Cavalier Hotel appointed Dan Elinan executive chef. Elinan was most recently executive chef at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront, which included overseeing the restaurants Catch 31 and Salaci.

Waldorf Astoria Key West named David Ferrier director of food and beverage for Casa Marina and The Reach, Resorts. Most recently, Ferrier served as director of restaurants overseeing the management, hiring, and training of four food and beverage outlets at Arrive Palm Springs in California. 

Tom Garcia was named vice president and general manager of High Hampton Inn & Country Club in Cashiers, North Carolina. Garcia has held several senior leadership positions with Benchmark, including serving as vice president and general manager of Eaglewood Resort & Spa in Chicago and serving as vice president of operations for the company’s Midwest properties. 

Jeffrey Harvey was named general manager of the New York-based Viceroy Central Park. Harvey was previously senior vice president and director of operations with Ark Partners and Willow Hotels.

Anne-Marie Houston was named resort manager of California-based Montage Laguna Beach. Houston joins Montage Laguna Beach from Six Senses Hotels, Resorts and Spas in Bangkok, Thailand, where she served as the corporate director of operations.

Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill appointed Michael Hurley senior sales manager. Hurley joins Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill from Los Angeles where he served as a senior sales manager overseeing group sales for two luxury hotels since December 2013.

Christopher A. (Chris) Jones was named executive chef at Virginia-based Wintergreen Resort. Prior to joining Wintergreen, Jones was executive chef at the Madison Fresh Market high-end grocery store on the campus of University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Rod Kessler was named general manager of the Virginia-based Wintergreen Resort. He was previously chief operating officer of Revelstoke Mountain Resort in British Columbia for five years, and for 16 years prior to that he was at Vermont’s Stowe Mountain Resort as vice president of mountain operations.

John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts made two appointments: Nick Larsen to corporate director of revenue optimization and Charles “Cee Jay” Jones Jr. as association sales manager at the company’s newly renovated Embassy Suites by Hilton Dallas Frisco Hotel, Convention Center & Spa in Texas.  

Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino appointed Diego Lemasson director of food and beverage. Lemasson has over 10 years experience working with Marriott International.

Robert Logan was named general manager at the One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos. Most recently, Logan was interim head of Asia for GLH Hotels.

Kara Lundgren was appointed general manager of the new Circ Hotel in downtown Hollywood, Florida. Lundgren previously served on Trust Hospitality’s operations/system management task force.

Stacy T. Martin was named managing director of Delta Hotels – Marriott Dallas Allen & Watters Creek Convention Center, scheduled to open January 2019.  Martin was previously general manager for The Heldrich, a hotel and conference center located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. 

San Diego-based Kimpton Solamar Hotel promoted Lauren Petersen business development manager. 

Hawaii-based Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa appointed Doug Sears general manager for the resort. He has previously he has held GM positions at Hyatt hotels including Hyatt Palo Alto, Hyatt Regency Coral Gables, Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman Resort and Spa, Grand Hyatt Seattle, and Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa.

Hilton New Orleans Riverside appointed Sebastian Stutz as hotel manager. Stutz has been with Hilton for the last six years, most recently serving as hotel manager for The Roosevelt Hotel New Orleans.

Carlos Tarrero was named general manager of The Andaman, a Luxury Collection Resort, Langkawi. He previously worked at the The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui, where he led the pre-opening team in resort operations.

Florida-based Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort named Tiler Theisen as marketing manager. Prior to joining the hotel, Theisen served as digital project manager for local advertising and public relations agency Blue Island Digital. 

Florida-based Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village appointed Michael Tighe general manager. Most recently, Tighe served as resident manager at the JW Marriott Marco Island.
