Director general, regional sales manager, CEO and general manager. The people making this week’s moves. 

New York-based Kimpton Ink48 Hotel appointed Ileana Acosta director of sales and marketing. She most recently served as director of sales and marketing at Gild Hall, a Thompson Hotel.

Great Neck, New York-based M&R Hotel Management appointed Sayed Alam vice president, operations, responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the company’s 13 hotels. Alam, a 26-year hospitality industry veteran, previously served Montreal-based Lixi Hotels Group as regional vice president of operations, overseeing nine hotels, including brands of Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide and the former Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.

Arizona-based JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa made two appointments: James Anderson was named director of sales and marketing and Derek Ellis was named resort manager.

Chris Bryant has returned to McKibbon Hospitality as general manager of the Courtyard Sarasota Bradenton Airport. Bryant most recently worked as the General Manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Clearwater.

Julie Davis-Petit was named director of sales and marketing for Stonewall Resort, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located in Roanoke, West Virginia. Davis-Petit previously served as task force director of events, sales and marketing for Benchmark, working on assignments in New Jersey, Texas, Florida and West Virginia. 

Wichita, Kansas-based Hospitality Management LLC promoted Bill DeWitt to the company’s new president, overseeing its hotel properties operating under Best Western and Choice Hotels flags in Kansas and Oklahoma. DeWitt joined Hospitality Management in 2015 as vice president of operations. 

Hamilton Hotel Washington DC, which recently broke ties with Crowne Plaza and became an independent hotel, has hired new managerial staff to oversee the 318 – room property. Mark Driscoll was appointed managing director. Prior to joining the Hamilton, Driscoll served as GM of Loews Boston Hotel. Also joining the Hamilton as director of sales and marketing is Brian Atkins. Atkins has held positions in both sales and marketing and food and beverage for a multitude of brands, including HEI Hotels and Resorts, Kimpton, and Autograph Collection.

AccorHotels announce the appointment of Ayman Gharib as Managing Director for Raffles Dubai and Sofitel Dubai Wafi. Gharib brings over twenty years of luxury hospitality experience in the Middle East to the role. Prior to joining Raffles, he worked for Ritz Carlton as executive assistant manager, Sharq Village & Spa in Doha. 

Newfoundland-based Fogo Island Inn named Jonathan Gushue executive chef. Most recently, Chef Gushue was co-owner and executive chef of The Berlin Restaurant in Kitchener. 

Pacific Hospitality Group appointed Kenneth Jacques as general manager of the AC Hotel New Orleans Bourbon. Jacques most recently served as general manager at Marriott’s Moxy New Orleans property. 

Washington, D.C.-based The Mayflower Hotel, Autograph Collection appointed hospitality executive Kori Johnson as GM. Most recently, Johnson served as GM of the Washington Marriott Georgetown. 

Alex Kassatly was named general manager of Le Germain Hotel Ottawa, which will open in downtown Ottawa this winter. Kassatly previously worked as general manager of Château Frontenac and Manoir Richelieu, in Quebec City. 

Marriott International appointed Bernhard Langer as general manager of Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Central Park. He comes to Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Central Park from Sheraton on the Park, Sydney, where he held the position of hotel manager. 

Kokua Hospitality, an independent hotel management company based in San Francisco, named Shouma Moniz director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach. 

Jean-Luc Naret was appointed CEO of La Réserve and General Manager of La Réserve Paris Hotel and Spa. Naret has more than 35 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry. Before joining La Réserve, he was GM at One&Only Reethi Rah. 

ME Miami – Meliá’s first for the brand in the United States – appointed Mathew Pargament general manager of the property. Pargament joins ME Miami after assuming the same role at The Edition Hotel, Miami Beach, a property he opened in November 2014. 

Loews Hotels & Co. announced Tony Phillips as GM of Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona. Tony brings over 20 years of hospitality experience to this role. 

Staypineapple promoted JoAnn Ramsby to regional sales manager. Prior to joining Staypineapple, Ramsby worked her way up in the hospitality industry starting in a front desk position at Marriot to earning an opportunity in the sales office after six months.

Denver-based The Source Hotel named David Stutz general manager. Stutz joins The Source Hotel having served as director of banquets at the St Julien Hotel & Spa over the last six years. The Source will open in May.

CapitaLand’s wholly owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited appointed Brian Tan country general manager for Thailand.

Dallas, Texas-based The Adolphus named Sam Tucker director of sales and marketing. Tucker previously spent seven years with Kimpton Hotels as group sales manager and director of sales and marketing. 

Bettoja Hotels, an Italian family-owned hotel group, appointed Ciro Verrocchi director general. He has held numerous hotel leadership positions at companies including managing director for IHI Italia, part of the Intercontinental Hotels Group; GM of the Westin Europa & Regina, in Venice; and GM of the St. Regis Grand in Rome. 

Anna Maria Island, Florida-based Waterline Marina Resort & Beach Club appointed Sandra Zinck as general manager. Most recently, she was general manager at Four Points by Sheraton Moncton, where she also acted as the project manager prior to its opening in June 2015.
