GTA, InterContinental Sign Global Distribution Deal

-- Hotels, 5/7/2009 9:32:00 AM

LONDON, England 7 May 2009 -- GTA by Travelport, a global travel wholesaler and the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)], owner of the InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Indigo®, Crowne Plaza® Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn® Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Express®, Staybridge Suites® and Candlewood Suites® brands, today announced that they have signed a global full content distribution agreement to further strengthen their strategic relationship.

The distribution agreement ensures that GTA's thousands of tour operator and travel agency customers will have access to the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms and the broad range of room and rate types available at IHG’s 4,100 hotels and more than 600,000 guest rooms in nearly 100 countries and territories around the world.  The expanded content complements GTA's diverse range of hotels and destination services, and provides its customers greater options when booking tour and travel arrangements for their end consumers.

"We’re thrilled to be able to offer IHG’s global inventory to our customers,” stated Kurt Ekert, GTA Chief Operating Officer.  “Our new relationship with IHG reflects our commitment to expanding our offering and ultimately enhancing the traveller’s experience by offering the widest choice in hotel accommodation, best-rate assurance and the best fit for the traveller without compromising on quality."

“Today’s announcement supports IHG’s strategic expansion and growth momentum by providing access to inventory that will be distributed through GTA’s multi-channel distribution network which customers can access both online and offline,” commented Andrew Rubinacci, VP Distribution Marketing - Europe, Middle East and Africa of InterContinental Hotels Group.  “By expanding our relationship with GTA, we are able to provide all the advantages that IHG’s global hotel portfolio and scale brings to customers through GTA’s vast array of travel trade customers around the globe. GTA’s dynamic network allows our brands to reach more customers and helps make our brands the first choice for guests globally."
