Food & Beverage People on the Move – July 2008

Marco Bustamante is named executive chef at Capella Pedregal, to open in November in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Prior to his post at Capella Pedregal, Bustamante assisted in the openings of Schloss Velden and Capella Castlemartyr, the first two hotels in the Capella Hotels and Resorts brand.

The Inn of the Anasazi, a Rosewood Hotel in Santa Fe, names Oliver Ridgeway executive chef and food & beverage director. Chef Ridgeway was previously part of the culinary team at The Carlyle, a Rosewood Hotel in New York. The Fullerton Hotel Singapore names Morné Van Antwerp executive chef. Prior to this appointment, Van Antwerp was at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Sharm el Sheikh, where he served in similar capacity. The Corinthia Hotel Lisbon names Paulo Gervásio F&B manager. Gervásio previously was food & beverage manager at the Arabella Sheraton Son Vida Golf Resort in Mallorca. Heritage Auckland appoints Stefan KereKere, formerly of the Langham Hotel Auckland, as food and beverage manager, and Jinu Abraham as executive sous chef. Abraham previously was the opening team as executive sous chef for a Radisson Resort & Spa in India. The hotel also names Joachim Ogden pastry chef. The Novotel Perth Langley Hotel names Xavier Pique executive chef. Pique was previously sous chef at the Hilton Bonaventure Hotel in Montreal, Canada. The Hilton Austin names Ravi Nage executive chef. Nage, previously executive chef and director of food and beverage at the new Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport, is stepping in for Hilton Austin’s Chef Mark Dayanandan, who was promoted to director of food and beverage. The Doubletree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center Berkeley Marina names Michelle Rini food & beverage director. Rini’s previous appointments include the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel and Divi Divi in the Caribbean. Benchmark Hospitality appoints El Hassan Erroudani as director of food & beverage for  The Heldrich, a hotel and conference center in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Erroudani was previously chief operating officer of Karm LLC & Brittany Corp. in Orlando. Duane Harris joins The Partridge Inn, Augusta, Georgia, as the hotel’s food and beverage director. Harris’ previous experience includes time as beverage manager at The Ritz-Carlton in Dearborn, Michigan. Donald Pleau, director of food and beverage at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa in Galena, Illinois, is now a certified sommelier. Benchmark Hospitality appoints John Billings as executive chef and assistant director of food & beverage for Eaglewood Resort & Spa in Itasca, Illinois.
