Hyatt Resorts Add Kids Concierges

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts -- Hotels, 12/8/2008 2:24:00 PM

Offering everything from s’mores to storytellers, Hyatt resorts are the ideal choice for families traveling with children thanks to their diverse locations, kid-friendly activities and responsive service. Now with the introduction of an on-site Kids Concierge and a recently launched program with online baby product retailer Babies Travel Lite, participating Hyatt resorts offer even more amenities for parents and their littlest travelers.

Dedicated Kids Concierge at Participating Hyatt Resorts
Beginning today, a Kids Concierge at each participating Hyatt resort in North America will be dedicated to enhancing the travel experience for parents with small children and babies. The Kids Concierge will provide last-minute advice; and arrange for cribs, strollers, high chairs, babysitters, and other baby needs. They will also share information about family-friendly services and activities available at each resort and its surrounding destination. Other Kids Concierge services include planning birthday parties; coordinating special guestroom amenities such as mini refrigerators, microwaves, baby shampoo, and kid-friendly TV; and recommending the best stroller routes on and near the resort.

Even Vacation Planning Is Family Friendly
Planning and packing for family vacations is easier with the exclusive program offered by Hyatt and Babies Travel Lite, an online retail resource offering more than 1,000 brand-name baby products. Products available through Babies Travel Lite include such essential items as diapers, baby food, infant formula and specialty travel items for delivery directly to Hyatt properties. At a time when airlines are charging for checked luggage and carry-on restrictions are tightening, Hyatt and Babies Travel Lite enable parents to avoid airline baggage fees and airport line hassles freeing them up to care for their families.

Guests may prepare for their trip to a Hyatt destination by shopping for baby products via the Babies Travel Lite link at hyattfamilytravel.com. Parents customize their orders by selecting the brands they use at home in quantities that make sense for the length of their trip. Upon check-in to the hotel, the supplies ordered from Babies Travel Lite are waiting, allowing families to settle into their vacation with ease. In addition, Babies Travel Lite offers a “Ship It Home” service that allows families to ship unused baby products and anything else they do not want to re-pack allowing them to avoid the airline baggage fees when they return home.

A Second Room for the Kids
The Hyatt Family Plan is perfect for families traveling to a Hyatt hotel with children – parents can save up to 50% on a second guest room for the kids when booking their next vacation and requesting the Hyatt Family Plan. Hyatt resorts take every detail into consideration for families traveling together, from offering special kids’ menus to a Cranium® Game Library, providing guests a complimentary assortment of fun games to enjoy during their stay. Reservations under the Family Plan at any Hyatt hotel or resort worldwide may be secured by calling 1-800-233-1234 or by contacting a professional travel planner. Camp Hyatt Engages and Inspires Year Round
One of the first resort programs created especially for kids, Camp Hyatt is available for children (ages 4-12) at Hyatt resorts in the U.S. and Caribbean. The program is focused on the culture, history and geography of each resort’s surroundings to provide fun, hands-on activities that educate and entertain. Parents can enroll their children in the program prior to arrival through the Hyatt E-concierge or during their stay. Camp Hyatt offers parents the flexibility of half-day, full-day and evening sessions. All activities are led by trained Camp Hyatt counselors. Prices start at $30 per session and vary by property. Many Camp Hyatt programs are open 365 days a year.

Activities Showcase Regional Culture and Traditions
With a focus on local inspiration, Hyatt resorts also offer a menu of family activities at each property that showcase regional culture and traditions. Examples of fun kid-friendly activities include hot-air balloon rides at Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch in Arizona; s’mores served around the campfire at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa outside of Austin, Texas; Native American stories told under the stars at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico, and lei making and hula lessons in tropical paradise at Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa. Additionally, activities geared specifically toward teenagers are available at all Hyatt resorts.
