So sorry to hear Steve will not be at the helm for a while, however, as any great leader does, people and process' are in place to carry on until his return. Wishing you well Mr. President; all our prayers and good wishes to you and yours while you recuperate.

From the day he took over, the face of the company changed. He is one of the reasons I work at the company again. He brought back culture and pride and showed in every action that he understood that it took every individual contributing to make a successful hotel. He is never in too big a hurry to stop and talk to other people despite so many demanding his time. He is always gracious and a gentlemen and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Mr. Porter came to our hotel after we were shut down by the hurricanes in 2004 and took time from his busy schedule to walk with my employees and share their stories with them. He didn't have to do that but he truly cares. We all love him and wish him well.

I am quite certain I am not unlike all my fellow InterContinental Hotels Group employees when I say I am deeply saddened to hear the news that our Americas region President is unwell.
