Bungalow, New Jersey

-- Hotels, 8/6/2009 11:57:00 AM

LONG BRANCH, NEW JERSEY Hoteliers David and Michael Barry of W Hoboken have just opened the doors to Bungalow, the Jersey Shore’s first boutique luxury hotel. Located in Pier Village, the Jersey shore's destination for dining and shopping, Bungalow is steps from sand beaches, world-class restaurants and exciting nightlife.

The 24-guestroom Bungalow hotel offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and is only a short walk to the beach, where guests will have full access to a Le Club, a beach club with cabanas, a roof-deck bar, lounge and pool.

Upon arrival, Bungalow guests are welcomed by a lounge and billiard room on the first floor, complete with a champagne bar and outdoor patio. The lobby café serves light fare and clever cocktails and has an assortment of games for guests to enjoy, including billiards, backgammon and chess. The laid-back but stylish beach feel of the hotel is accented with contemporary accessories like lamps from Moss, surf photos by Jeff Devine and light-filled rooms with huge bathtubs. Above the 1940s pool table hangs a feathered chandelier, and a vintage foosball table in the lobby hangs adjacent to a six foot mural of a stamp made entirely out of buttons.

Bungalow houses more than 50 works of original art designed to stimulate and engage. The mod-meets-beach hotel décor has been carefully chosen by husband and wife duo Cortney and Robert Novogratz. The Novogratzes are the team behind Sixx Design, a building and interior design company being documented by the Bravo cable network for a show due to air next year.

Sixx Design has brought its eclectic and distinctive designs to Bungalow, resulting in the stunning effect of 24 diverse looks in each of the 24 spacious guestrooms. With options such as junior suites, oversized king bedrooms, and corner suites, guests may choose between rooms such as the Aloha, Hangloose, and Lil Pipeline.

All guestrooms are oversized and furnished with king beds, flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, kitchenettes, window walls, and fireplaces. Each room also offers wireless Internet, a minibar and a café table for in-room dining.
