Miami Doubletree (Temporarily) Changes Name To 'Bud Light Hotel'

PRESS RELEASE -- Hotels, 2/4/2010 1:30:37 PM

Doubletree Surfcomber Hotel Miami-South Beach has changed its name... temporarily, that is. From now through Monday, Bud Light has rebranded the sold-out hotel as Bud Light Hotel South Beach, creating an exclusive football fan experience during one of the world's ultimate sports celebrations in sunny South Florida, the Super Bowl.

Bud Light HotelEvery last detail has been thoughtfully carried out by Doubletree Surfcomber Hotel team along with Bud Light executives to create this one-of-a-kind hotel experience for the ultimate Bud Light fan. Everything from the hotel marquee and the welcome mat at the front entrance to the towels and mints in the property's 186 guestrooms has been retrofitted with the Bud Light Hotel logo, according to hotel General Manager George Isaac.

The Doubletree Surfcomber Hotel Miami-South Beach has been the backdrop for numerous productions, festivals and events in South Beach during the past several years including the transformation of the hotel into Hotel MTV in 2005 for the MTV Music Awards.

"The Doubletree Surfcomber Hotel Miami-South Beach is no stranger to hotel-wide, exclusive events of this magnitude. With a central location and one of the most sought-after outdoor event venues in Miami Beach for large parties, we were appreciative to work with the Bud Light team to transform our hotel for another amazing South Beach celebration, said George Issac, hotel general manager.

Items re-branded in the hotel transformation included hotel staff uniforms and name tags, television channel guides, guestroom telephones, laundry bags, do not disturb signs, breakfast menus, note pads and pens, bathroom toiletries, hand towels, pool towels, coffee mugs and more. Even the sugar packets in the hotel were branded for the Bud Light Hotel South Beach.

"Our team members took pride working through the multiple layers of detail necessary to make this unique, multi-day hotelwide event memorable," Isaac added. "We look forward to the next several days of activities and celebration at the Bud Light Hotel South Beach and then, of course, continuing to welcome the world's travelers to the Doubletree Surfcomber and our legendary South Beach hotel experience."

Bud Light provided adult consumers an opportunity to win a stay at the Bud Light Hotel by offering a register-to-win promotion on www.budlighthotel.com. The lucky winners will enjoy the hotel amenities, soak up some sun on the beach and gain access to many of the exclusive hotel events. Bud Light has planned a full lineup of exclusive events, star-studded live concert performances and sports exhibitions making the Bud Light Hotel the place to be on South Beach during the football activities.

"Pro football's culminating event is one of the biggest events on the American sports calendar," said Mike Sundet, senior director of Bud Light brands. "As the beer of good times, Bud Light saw an unique opportunity to work with the Doubletree Hotel Surfcomber Miami-South Beach to create and offer adult football fans everywhere a VIP experience to the celebration, social scene and special events leading up to kickoff."

An Art Deco treasure, the Doubletree Surfcomber Hotel Miami-South Beach sits at the edge of warm Atlantic Ocean waters in the heart of trendy and exciting South Beach, Florida. With direct beach access and beautiful poolside cabanas, the hotel is within walking distance of fine shopping at Lincoln Road Mall, events at the Miami Beach Convention Center and Jackie Gleason Theatre and some of the most reknoned nightclubs in the world.
