Hotel Under Construction At Surrey Cricket Club
LONDON Arora International Hotels is building a 170-bed, 4-star hotel at Surrey County Cricket Club's Brit Oval, scheduled to open in time for the 2009 Ashes cricket series. All bedrooms will be air-conditioned, and one wing of the hotel will have larger dual-purpose rooms that will double as corporate boxes on match days. A rooftop restaurant is planned with views of the pitch.
The project involves the improvement of existing facilities at the pavilion end of the ground, with the creation of a new, integrated stand and hotel design. By demolishing the existing Surrey Tavern, the front entrance to the ground will be completely opened up and finished with an elegant piazza.
