On Command Provides Services To Starwood

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA On Command Corp. and New York-based Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide announce On Command’s @Hotel PC service is available to all guests at the W San Francisco and W New York, with installation in progress at the W New Orleans. @Hotel PC is On Command’s high-speed Internet access connectivity service for business travelers with laptops.

On Command provides in-room interactive entertainment, Internet access, business information and guest services for the lodging industry. On Command annually serves more than 250 million guests through nearly 1 million rooms in approximately 3,300 hotel properties worldwide, representing over 100 hotel chains in more than 20 countries.

Teledex Announces Lifetime Warranty

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA Teledex LLC, a worldwide leader in providing high quality and durable guestroom telecommunications devices to the global hospitality industry, announced the industry’s first lifetime warranty across all telephone product lines. The warranty was in effect April 1, 2000, and will cover repair or replacement of Teledex telephones anywhere in the world. A worldwide network of support facilities will handle warranty services.

“Teledex guestroom telephones are considered the world standard and this lifetime warranty is a bold statement of confidence in the quality of our product,” says President Dan Seale.

Hüppe Presents Hotel Bathroom Study

BAD ZWISCHENAHN GmbH & Co. OHG, a leading manufacturer of shower enclosures for the international hospitality industry, has recently increased their product and marketing efforts toward large international hotel chains. In their marketing materials, Hüppe presents one of many bathroom studies of business and leisure travelers conducted among German hotels.

One study showed that three of every four business travelers spend half an hour to one hour in the bathroom every day of their stay, and 18% of female guests make use of the bathroom for up to 1.5 hours. According to Huppe, these facts indicate what a lasting impression hotel individuality has on guests and the potential there is for marketing hotels at the enjoyment level by concentrating on bathroom design.

Winterhalter Recognized For Excellence In Product Development

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND At the FCSI (Foodservice Consultants Society International) Europe 2000 International Hospitality Conference Amsterdam (January 8-13), the FCSI presented an award for Excellence in Product Development to Winterhalter Gastronom GmbH, Meckenbeuren, Germany, for their dishwashing machine GS 502.

Accepting the award is Manuel Rhem, international key accounts manager for Winterhalter. A total of 215 attendants from 16 countries attended the conference. The 2001 FCSI Europe International Seminar will be on the island of Capri, Italy, from April 26-29. The FCSI’s world headquarters is in Louisville, Kentucky.
